USER TESTING.png

PURPOSE:

To give the technology to the intended audience and allow them to give feedback on its functions and design.

how to:

  • Pick the features your team needs feedback for

  • Find at least four users to test the design

  • Ask the users for specific feedback

  • Record all feedback from the users

Types of User Testing

  • Usability Testing

    • This type of testing allows the team to identify how easy the innovation is to operate and implement. It involves observing the user as they interact with your device. A team member can be present during the test so that they can give feedback and instruction to the user.

  • Focus Groups

    • Testing using this method delves into “what users want from a product.” If using focus groups, run more than one as information collected may not be representative due to dominant personalities within a single group.

  • Beta Testing

    • Here users interact with an almost complete product. They provide imperative information and can simultaneously fill out error reports if an unintended function occurs.

  • A/B Testing

    • This testing requires there to be two alternate versions of the technology. Users are comparing the two versions to determine which one is more beneficial to the user’s needs or easier to use.
